Le verre de vin
Le verre de vin est obligatoirement rond et à pied et le vin rouge. Le vin lui-même chatoie plus ou moins, du rouge sombre au rose léger, selon les besoins de l’harmonie générale du tableau. On ne sait ce qui rend la jeune femme songeuse : du verre ou du vin, de l’idée de la communion proche ou de la chaleur ingérée ?
THE WINEGLASS
The wineglass is always round, upright on its stem, and filled with red wine. The wine itself almost sparkles, from sombre red to light rose, depending on the harmonic needs of the painting. We do not know what has made the young girl so dreamy: the glass or the wine, the thought of an approaching communion or of swallowed warmth?
